For the past while I've been keeping an eye on the IHG PointBreaks offers that come out every 3 months, on the off chance that one of the hotels might actually be somewhere that I'm planning to visit.

The latest offers have just been released, and this time around some of the hotels actually seem useful. I would like to book rooms at 3 of them, but I can't for the life of me find any rooms at the advertised rates of 5,000 or 10,000 IHG points. All of the rooms are 20,000+ points per night when I click through and search. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Can you give us an example of which properties Mattg you have been looking for? I was surprised there were AUS properties this time round so immediately went in to check if they were bookable (HIX Newcastle) and there was plenty of inventory.

Hey I have only ever booked close in (before the date of the promotional period) i.e. Oct 31st. So not sure if some hotels put the discounted rooms past that date or not.

Below is Doha at 10K a night. But if you go to November 1st it will return to the 'normal' rate.

That has been my experience with all hotels.

So when they say 'valid for booking through October 31st, 2019' they mean 'valid for arrivals through October 31st, 2019'

Ah, so that’s where I’m going wrong! All of the rooms I’m trying to book are for November.

Thanks for clearing that up.
