I'm feeling a bit sad ...[My SC's are getting wiped today... =( ]

60 SCs gone (all earned on BA!), downgraded to Silver. Always sad to see status go, but not so much on this occasion considering I had the status due to COVID-era match from VA and related extensions. Has helped with lounge access a few times particularly flying BA and a few economy classic rewards.

It has opened my eyes to the offerings of oneworld, that's for sure. It is obviously far better than VA's stitched together situation, but VA really works better for me.

Seems I got the usual two months or so of free QP membership though which is nice, I have a booking later this month and might try another trip before that free access disappears.

During COVID Era Qantas telephone sales offered me double status credits if I parked my travel as a Credit. Being swayed easily by this offer, however to this day I am fighting for recognition of this offer:eek:o_O.

Also had to fight being denied boarding after eventual lifting of government mandates as Qantas wanted only pristine JABBY JABBIES on the aeroplane. Qatar flew me instead. Fought tooth and nail to get my status credits & Points for this flight and waited over a year. But got them eventually last month.

Now I PRAY that Qantas REALISE - double status credits as it promised. It would set me up nicely for reaching Platinum1 status.

You've posted this on at least one other thread. My question is, and asked with sincere respect, why would you chase Platinum One? Clearly QF is not your carrier of choice going forward from what you're written, and that's perfectly fine but unless you're chained to QF by corporate or other situation, how useful would P1 actually be to you as most benefits apply to flying QF?

A very astute observation. I am left lingering now that the main character of Qantas's demise has actually left. Chained by the corporate ties? Has encouraged to branch out and therefore see the other part of the story in aviation. Not disappointed by it. A company that can deny boarding using a throw away statement every time is not to be trusted as Australia's National Carrier. It is why we need Qatar Airways! They flew at the height of COVID.

You should have received a confirmation email when the TravelPass was issued, it would look like this

Note the * need to check that the flight/s you used it on was eligible and the TP was the larger portion of the payment. If you log on to your travel pass (even if balance is zero) it shows you the booking/s you used it on, so grab a screen shot and supply your version of the above email, the screenshot of the usage and e-ticket in any correspondence.

Assuming you had a vaccine not recognized by Australia or given outside Australia? QF were accepting all the international certificate (easily downloadable from medicare) for all 3 approved vaccines in Australian - i flew with this proof multiple times. Also noting that the QF website clearly stated what vaccines were acceptable, so a buyer beware moment if you didnt check before buying a ticket.

The great era of status support is over now. The '0' on the account must look pretty desolate. I have been lucky to be one of the last cohorts to get an extension & SC rollovers but it's back to earning it from zero every year again...
Yes and also no more points lol one of the few times I pleased to see that my return flight from LAX business class is chokkas so my upgrade from PE was not going to happen lol

My QF year ended 30 Nov and I'm back to SG for the first time since about 2008.

My seat selections for upcoming flights made when I was WP have held, but if I want to change them I'll be several rows back.

Still it's been fun and including a year of WP1 I am well over 20K SCs so it's time for LTG to earn its keep.

My QF year ended on 30 November. I’m not sad to see the balances reset - it creates the challenge for the new year.

4 days into my new year and I already have 717 SCs (I’m currently on the last day of a Status Run to start my new year with a bang). These include my 100SC PC+ rollover, SR SCs and some of the DSCs related to the SR have already come through (quick work QANTAS!!).

Plus my Points Club balance is already sitting at 144,100 (19,100 from my SR flights and 125,000 from Woolworths Banked for Christmas transferred across). By tonight it’ll have passed 150,000 as I’ll buy some Airbnb gift cards (@ 20x), and I’ll be heading for the 250k Milestone Bonus.

In two weeks my 10 SCs are resetting to zero, dropping me from SG to LTS, and ending a maybe 12 year run of Gold (with one or two Platinum years in there).

During COVID I changed job, and with that my work travel patterns changed. Whereas before I'd be visiting Europe, Asia, and North America in approximately equal share, now 90% of my travel is MEL-SFO to visit new work's head office. I would've liked to continue flying QF but I can't justify the difference in price compared with UA. And with Qantas yet to resume its MEL-SFO direct flights, it's just not as convenient as United.

New job has a policy of J for trips more than 10 hours, and the old job was all Y all the time, so I'm not complaining too much!
