I'm in the QF Lounge thread

I think I can as the next departing flight that day is in business - but just wanted to check
I agree but not certain how they interpret the later flight. There may well be a limit as to how early before a flight you can access a lounge.

Daft question which I think I know the answer to - but want confirmation (and didn't want to start another thread).
I am looking at an itinerary that has a red eye landing in Brisbane at 5.30am.
If i have an outbound flight later that afternoon at say - 6pm in business - am I able to use the business lounge services in the morning for a shower/breakfast?? (and then again for multiple access in the afternoon)

I did much the same a year ago - arriving from Singapore on QF52 early into Brisbane, a day of work and then flew onto Canberra at 7.30pm - luggage was checked all the way through. I was flying in Bus and also a WP, and had no issues having a shower in the morning and then coming back later for work and drinks until the flight home.

Already spotted Richard Clapton, Phil Gould and Peter Sterling...So much star power this morning in SYD J Dom

Took aisle row 8 on the 737 with a spare seat in the middle...nice. Rows 4/5/6 are full.

Crew are now referring to specific gadgets when asking you to turn off electronic devices, along with Microsoft Surface Pros and iPad Pros...is this a new form of advertising? Are regular iPads ok? What about old 9.7” iPad Pros? Curios...

Captain just apologised for the delay out of Sydney...currently 5 aircraft in front of us with a few landings to come as well. Then he apologised that Melbourne is only using one runway due to strong winds so there might be a delay in landing too. We are already 21 mins late...

HSR anytime soon? I am currently at 1hr 51mins since I left home:rolleyes:

It has to do with the size and weight of the device. The previous wording was (to the effect of) "laptops must be stowed; tablets and handheld devices can continue being used but must be switched to flight mode" but the newer generation of 12" tablets are as getting as large and heavy as a small laptop, and hence equally as dangerous to have out during a rough take-off or landing.

Qantas could distinguish on display size, but I doubt your average non-technical user would know their device's exact display specs, so it's just easier to say iPad Pros and Surface Pros need to go away.

7-10" tablets are fine.

I’m sure any tablet up to 11” would be ok. There are 9.7” iPad Pro models so referring to a specific model doesn’t really indicate what’s actually allowed to be used.

They should specifically say over 11” or something along these lines.

In the Sydney J lounge until QF761 to Adelaide boards around 3.30. Can guest 2

In Melbourne Domestic Business Lounge until 7pm - can guest 2

EDIT: Now until 8pm with my flight being delayed
