I'm in the QF Lounge thread

How many people actually found someone to "guest" in?
I have asked total strangers if they'd like to visit the lounge. Some have accepted, some not.

And over the years I have guested many AFFers into lounges around the world. I've kept in touch with many and some are now friends.

I've also accidentally run into AFFers in SIN, BKK and HKG airports. And one time on a flight to SIN I was in 43H and another AFFer was sitting in 43K.

Ive never guested any one in outside from family and colleagues who are on same itinerary.

How do you know if some is AFF? I assume they would look quite normal. maybe a bit frazzled about/from their multistop itinerary?

Where do you ask totally random strangers?

Husband and I arrived very early for check in at new York. Started chatting to an elderly gentleman and another man in his early 30s.
Invited them in which they were appreciative and very appreciative when our flight was about 7 hours delayed .

I know they are AFFers because I've met them before. The ones I've guested have either requested via PM or posted in one of the meeting threads. Exchange phone numbers via PM and guest away. No obligation to chat and they can go about their own thing.

You generally work it out beforehand, starting with a few private messages and perhaps sharing phone numbers etc.

FWIW, If on the remote chance, an AFF member should somehow abuse your generosity with guesting the AFF management team would be very keen on knowing.
