If you as a QF WP are travelling on QF96, then you are also oneworld Emerald and can guest anyone travelling on a oneworld operated and marketed flight out of LAX.

The 'same flight' criteria only applies to those with QF status flying a non oneworld Qantas partner airline, e.g. EK.

According to the same Lounge Dragon, a OWEmerald would be someone who does not specifically have QF FF status but has OW airline FF status. Apparently as the rules are specific for QF status then those rules apply before the OW rules.
Unfair, tried to argue the point to no avail.
And here are the rules for OWEmerald:

So QF once again "reward" the loyalty of its own FF program members - by imposing restrictions not applicable to non members of its own program. Loyalty certainly means different things to different people and it again demonstrates that with QF it is a one way street.

GPH & ALH in the SYD FLounge from 11:30am Sat 20th Jan. Can guest 2 on QF41
