@AIRwin and I are in the BNE lounge. Lots of cancelled flights on the boards and only moderately busy.

The food has definitely improved since my last visit. Party pies, salads, hot soup, sandwiches, cheese plates & nachos available. My cappuccino, however, is basically just a flat white with chocolate powder.

That's fair. My recent QF flat whites have been cappuccinos without chocolate powder.

I'm in BNE lounge today, food options are getting better, I only had some snacks so can't comment on the actual meals.

This was the menu, plus I saw pork/veggie buns, party pies, soup, packet chips.

I am in the MEL VA Lounge at the moment. It's quiet but wow it is nice to be back in here.

Food looks absolutely fantastic. Will upload some photos shortly...

As mentioned...food looks yummy.

Choice of sandwich or wrap (latter very yummy)
Plated options of Wild rice salad, chicken and pesto salad with feta, or vegetable frittata with beetrot and slaw.
Thai chicken soup + bread
Choice of 4 beers, 5 wines. Crackers and crisps available at the bar too, and I spotted cheese and crackers in the fridge as well.

Don't want to eat too much, still got the meal on board to go. Doesn't preclude more drinking though......hic.......

Were you able to pick up the items yourself or still have to ask a Team Member? Last time I was in BNE lounge I still had to ask for foods on plates and drinks but was able to pick up packets of chips, cookies and apples myself. It's gradually changing.

I had that experience in Brisbane too, but was just in Perth lounge a few minutes ago and the guy wasn't letting anyone taking the packet of chips, even though the packets were facing us. Could depend on who is serving though

Yes I agree. I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping things will be back to how they once were asap.

In the Syd Lounge for a few hours, can't guess though pretending to work and happy to be distracted if anyone is coming through!

Also maybe it's just too much time recently spent in the QF version, but the food is so much better here. Avocado toast for breakfast, fresh salads for lunch that actually look appetising. Think QF need to have a look here!

In the CBR lounge now. Several hot food options (including bacon, potato rostis and pancakes), not too busy and great service.

Coffee is nice but I seem to keep getting flat whites with chocolate powder whenever I order a cappuccino in Virgin lounges!

In the MEL VA lounge at the moment. Nice spread here for breakfast. Muesli and cereal, juices, yogurts (3 kinds), raisin/plain/wholemeal toast, bacon, potato rostis, pancakes and baked beans. Plus usual coffee/tea.

You would have to try hard to be unsatisfied with the offerings.

Flew my parents inlaw up for holiday, we leave next week so not able to guest them in myself.

Premium security exit open at the MEL lounge this morning.

I came through MEL in the afternoon going to Sydney. Thank god that premium entry was open. The airport was an absolute zoo. The security line snaked all the way to the club then back to the escalators.

Long weekend. Good fun.
