I'm in the VA Lounge thread

Any cider in the fridge aside from Somersby?? For those of us who don't drink beer, VA2.0's drinks choice is pretty average. :/

Ah well. Might have to put a little feedback in and see if we can get something with a bit of taste to it in the fridge. Somersby to cider drinkers is as xx_X Gold is to be beer drinkers.
It does taste very apple juicey! Hills Cider would be a nice addition to the lounge.

Spot on. Pre-administration there was Bulmers, Pure Blonde and Strongbow...all of which are reasonably costed when compared with the sugary sweetness that is Somersby. Hills is generally a bit more expensive so I doubt our cost-conscious friends would go for that.

In the MEL lounge with Mrs Hawk waiting for VA351 back to Brisvegas. The chicken, walnut and avocado salad is nice, and the pesto dressing helps, however (according to Mrs Hawk) "some apple or pear would make it nice".
Security line looked horribly long post check-in, but priority queue direct out of the Lounge is closed...was apparently open earlier in the day though.

there are some apples, but I didn't think to mention fruit as it's just a given usually.
No chips, I asked for the kids.
That's worth some feedback to VA - whilst it s been a bit sparse since VA2.0 spun into motion, that's beyond the pale :/

Been in the MEL lounge for a couple of hours. When I arrived, Tuna wraps, chicken wraps, black rice with beetroot salad, chicken/pesto salad and nachoes with guac/sour cream/salsa.

Hot options started with mini sausage rolls, then some chicken bites, then pasta bolognese and the Betty's Burgers sliders (beef - was seriously surprised at how good these were). Thai chicken soup present throughout.

Coffee etc available as usual. Great spread and variety today. Only thing "missing" is bar style snacks e.g. crisps, pretzels etc but given the real food options I don't think these are really missed.

Well Virgin cancelled my 610 TSV-BNE flight with four hours notice (at 2 am via email not text) which has made me wish I was in the Virgin Lounge right now. Next flight is 1130 so nearly 6 hours in a lounge free airport is not how I'd like to spend my Saturday. Plus I'm going on to SYD so my whole day is now wasted. Thanks for nothing Virgin.

TSV has unfortunately always been a VA lounge-free zone... there was talk about the airport redevelopment affording space for a VA lounge pre-COVID, however considering there's only 4-5 VA flights per day I doubt that JH and crew would be wanting to pay that price. :/

Yes and they've recently redeveloped the airport and nothing happened so it won't now. Plus they've closed Darwin and Mackay so I read which means it's becoming less likely we'll see any more new lounges.

Was in the MEL lounge yesterday afternoon. Hot food options were the soup and sausage rolls. There was also a chicken wrap and the salads, of course. A decent selection of food. And Premium exit was open as well!
