I'm in the VA Lounge thread

In Perth lounge now. Not too busy and plenty of food coming out. Couple of soups and some some sausage rolls.

I'm not into alcohol so soft drink for me, yet somehow they have ruined the Coca cola mix, at all 3 points, just super watery and not great. To small of an issue to complain? Disappointing but not the end of the world..
Good to hear Perth was ok for you. I caught the Sunday late afternoon flight out to Melbourne from Perth a few weeks back and they ran down the available food (some soup and mini sausage rolls) given the next flight was a few hours afterwards and then it was only pre packaged chips etc. Felt pretty bad for those who came to the lounge just prior to departure.

In Sydney lounge. Busy. I swear the entrance has been under construction for far too long.
Come say hi!

Lunch time ADL - BNE @ VA ADL lounge.
Think VA still has a very long way to get back.
No DIY meals, half rolls, their pre packed prepared sandwicges, etc.
Had got to Bakers Delight fir the bread rolls for on plane food soupy sockup.
High tables near windows have power points on floor here so extra long cord needed if you plan to use this lounge.
Not a lot of staff, but at least there us a table clearer and cleaner.
Didnt check out loos.
Coffee ok tho.
8 25/10.

In SYD lounge yesterday from 4pm - busy but managed to find a free table (upstairs was closed). Crowd started to thin out around 6pm. Managed to score a couple of Betty's Burgers and popcorn chicken (thought they were only ding these in MELB?
Breezed though security on arrival at airport - no queue at all.

I was in the SYD lounge on Wednesday evening. However they didn't seem to be serving them en masse like when I was in the MELB lounge on a Friday evening so maybe it was a one off?
Bonus! There was no popcorn chicken the time I went through on a Thu in MEL, only the beef sliders

I've been delayed in Sydney domestic. Is there anyone at domestic who may be able to gift me into Velocity lounge? I have a 3 hour + wait. I would be grateful.

I really feel like virgin just can't get lounges right. I actually think the f&b offerings were better in Covid times compared to now. Adelaide lounge this morning, open just after 5, no one at the coffee station took them 10mins to get the first one out when 20-30 people are ordering then food is tough eggs and toast and some avo if you're so inclined. The pepper mill empty, no sachets to take to your table. They should at least have some bacon and ham and cheese toasties available, it's not hard. Qantas you walk in first thing and they have staff with coffees lined up they made just before opening handing out like candy and then a full selection of foods for breakfast. Virgin needs to make there decision makers fly on both options and compare more often, the experience is just not as good on the ground (I always feel like they are trying to cut corners/spend less money).

Would've enjoyed the SYD lounge this morning but queuing for over an hour at security precluded that. Would've been longer but for being called forward.

Still haven't gotten around to opening the priority entry to the lounge then. What is Virgins excuse for this? Budget cuts or lack of staff?

Was open last Thursday & noticed it open on my return to Melbourne on Sunday.

Seems it's open when required.
MooTime are you talking about the Melbourne priority security line or Sydney's priority entry?? With the current state of travel in Sydney, it's required more often than not. :/

As a non match fit traveller I mistakenly went through security at MEL forgetting the Lounge was on the wrong side. Could've gone back but it was developing into another fiasco so stayed put at the gate. When I first approached they only had 2 out of 3 points open so I lined up and then they closed the one I was in so I had to go to the only open one. They didn't put up a sign or block off the closed one so people kept turning up and getting annoyed when told it was closed.
