I'm in the VA Lounge thread

Melbourne is definitely inconsistent in terms of food quality but its coffee has been consistently good at least!

Virgin doesn’t really mention the word “business” as associated with the lounges and have never had the concept of of Buiswss lounge as compared to Qantas.

On their website they now advertise the lounge as a place to Work, Relax and Socialise.

Personally, one major benefit of the Virgin lounge in Melbourne is the fantastic view of the tarmac and planes! Since Qantas made their Qantas Club internal facing at Melb and gave the view totally to the Business Lounge, it’s means you won’t have to worry about losing the view if your only VA gold.

These days the food at the QF Melb lounges tends to be no better than VA lounge and sometimes worse. At least they do have spirits at the bar though.

In the BNE lounge for the next hour or so. VERY quiet...as very little going out until 830 onwards. Bacon and scrambled eggs on the menu this morning... so I guess that means bacon on my pancakes!

Also a couple of signs up asking for understanding "as we temporarily transition to disposable items during our ongoing renovations".

PS - can guest 3 this morning :)

Anyone going to be in the MEL lounge on Sunday between 2pm and 4pm? Could use a guest'ing. Send direct message, many thanks,

Pretty quiet in the MEL lounge this morning. Usual good breakfast spread of fruit + cereals, yogurts, eggs, baked beans and pastries.

Side note, took a big gamble coming to the airport hoping to fly ahead, thankfully I nabbed one of the last seats on the first flight out. MEL-PER is rather busy today for some reason (mining fly out day perhaps) and this was all very last minute anyway.

In the VA BNE lounge until 7:45ish, can guest 3.
Sausages and scrambled eggs on offer for breakfast - looks like beef sausages though.
VERY quiet this Easter Sunday - first departing flight is 314 to MEL

Pasta bland.
No visible beef.
But just using my VFF PS 2 vouchers.
Wind down closed, one set of coffee machines non operational, coca drink dispenser out of order, lounge heaving...
Cheap cheap

Are dim sims a regular occurrence in the Melbourne lounge? Saw them today as I walked past to go to the gate as my flight was now 'boarding'. (I don't usually fly past 5 p.m. so was very surprised)

They were putting the sauces out as I left at about 4:45pm today. Now I know what the sauces were for! To my knowledge they’re new … as were the yummy hot feta pastry things that they had out just before then.

In BNE lounge for about the next hour (or until VA1265 gets called) - can guest 2.
Chicken biryani + rice is the warm meal, and lounge is moderately busy today.
