Wasn’t sure where to post this but it looks like VA are preparing for an Uluru event at MEL today

In MEL VA lounge until inaugural service VA1681 to AYQ boards. Can guest 2 I think (I'm VA SG). Actually, thinking that I will be leaving the lounge a bit earlier than usual to see what events are happening for the inaugural service. For now, this service departs from Gate 5.

Hardly a good reason to eat in the lounge..., ..same menu every night...?

Penne arrabiata isn't exactly tough to make, and I'd say the same for the Thai chicken soup.
Admittedly on arrival on Monday night they had Spinach and Cheese pastries, Sausage rolls and a few other bits and pieces, so not the same menu every night.

They did have a selection of sandwiches and cheese/biscuits upstairs last week, which I hadn't seen them do before.

Brisbane lounge today (Thur 8/8) is woeful ... no available seats. For a new platinum flyer who has migrated across from Qantas platinum it's not impressive. Have ended up in a comfortable cafe outside the lounge which has loads of room.

Quite a few VA flights delayed today so probably explains the "fullness" of the lounge. Same thing would happen at the other end if there were delays as well.

My experience yesterday afternoon was similar. Ended up at ‘The Common’ which had decent window views.

I was travelling on Link with a VA codeshare. Given a non pleasant welcome and a abruptly told that the boards won’t show my flight details because ‘there is no partnership’.
