I'm *just* going to miss out on WP due to an ineligible flight :(

I've booked NTL-MEL-BNE-NTL using Markis10's suggestions, so it looks like I will get there! Lucky I checked my FF account today to realise...

Good to know for the future to check all OW flights for SC earn before booking, as I didn't realise that you could get ineligible flights, I thought all OW flights would get SC's (it was CX SYD-HKG-HGH-HKG-SYD and should have given me 90 points from Y travel).

But anyway, thanks for all your help, hopefully my next post will be from the FLounge in a couple of weeks!

Good stuff, you will get the points back and enjoy the extra benefits, ask in MEL on arrival for an earlier flight, you never know.....

I can't help but wonder - Y class NTL/BNE or NTL/MEL on JQ would net the necessary points just as, if not easier! even though they wont immediately credit, a copy of the BP's showing Y (Jetflex) fares will be acceptable to QF I am sure to attain the OWE status.

The OP was planning NTL-BNE , Y class would still leave them 15 SC short at 2 x 20 SC for $320 extra, going via Melbourne then Brisbane with JQ would mean an extra $200 to Melbourne on top of a normal NTL-BNE fare and then $371 to BNE or around $600 extra. 20K of QF points is only $40 of life insurance ;) versus spending $600.

I got caught flying CX to Delhi once. Bloody S bucket and no points or sc's the TA got an ear bashing from me over that! I always double check, or book with a QF leg so I don't get caught out.

Everyone has the same amount of time in their week. The question is where does it fit in your priorities? For 55 SC's and a big trip coming up, for me the priority would be HIGH.
