Will the changes to Krisflyer points on the 23rd of March 2017 impact booking the same Singapore flights using Velocity Points?

Was keen to book a flight to Singapore with a mate but he doesn't have enough points yet and won't get enough in the next week. I was planning on using Velocity points to book the reward seat.

It shouldn't make any difference at all (at least for the moment) to Velocity redemptions.

The only thing that might change is the value proposition of transferring to KrisFlyer and booking with KrisFlyer miles. Previously, you could save quite a lot of Velocity points (with the trade-off being higher taxes) by transferring VA points to KrisFlyer for SQ bookings. This may no longer be the case, depending on the flight/route.

I asked today when I was on the phone today for another matter and they couldn't give an answer... that was the platinum team too.

It would be harsh if they did increase VFF redemptions as the KF increase has been offset by a reduction in YQ
