Impressive service from AMEX

Revived this thread instead of creating a fresh one...Again, Amex service impresses me. For those who unwittingly get their payment in late, Amex is too happy to reverse the interest. Maybe happens on a case by case basis but it appears all their reps are empowered to make decisions. Don't leave that too late though.

Yes foreigner I am very impressed with my Amex Ultimate card. They listened when I wanted my wife's card limit moved to $100k and we have increased the use by a big heap.They have never made a mistake on our Ultimate accounts so that is really good work.

Wow! How did you manage to get the annual fee reduced and for which card type? In the past this was always the one thing they wouldn't budge on unless you spent squillions...

Not sure what you basis for stating this is. But various forumites have in the past reported being offered reduced rates on the Patinum Charge Card.

When I took out mine for the first time last year I could have taken half...but opted for the 75K points instead. At tat time I researched the card and recall posters who already had the card getting half the fee waived.

I got my plat charge discounted again to half price this year (renewing since I took up blue moon last year), they did point out this is not on-going offer but a one-time goodwill gesture... In saying that, just before I took up blue moon last year, they waived my plat credit card annual fee 2nd year in a row... Not a big spender by any means....
