From an email from Qantas (was part of the "feedback panel")

Well Connected

There have been a number of comments around slow Wi-Fi performance. We are upgrading the Wi-Fi in our lounges across Australia. Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide will have improved Wi-Fi access by the end of the year with the remaining lounges across Australia upgraded by early 2012. We also recently doubled the bandwidth in our Singapore lounges and are installing new Wi-Fi equipment in Los Angeles to improve wireless connectivity.

At last.

well, this post come to you from the BNE Business Class lounge using my Next-G USB dongle as the QP WiFi was attrocious again today.

Over the last week I've used the WiFi at Admirals club in DFW and at the Jet Blue terminal in New Orleans, both have been super fast. All I can say is it about bloody time Qantas got their act together with the WiFi. If the speeds are doubled it will still be unacceptable.

I spoke too soon about TBIT:(
Its now down to snails pace, and the lounge is full.
Guess you need to be here early if you want it to work!!!!! Mind you, at least it works, unlike when I was here a couple of months ago

The title of this thread is almost to good to be true.

Good things (in this case standard things you would expect in a business lounge) come to those that wait!

Except we keep on waiting and waiting.....

BNE was atrociously slow today. I did notice many people using their dingle dongles as that seems to be a much faster alternative.

Steph confirmed at the lunch this week that they are shifting to Optus as part of the new wi fi rollout which is scheduled for Q1.
