Having only just stumbled across this TR, I just spent an enjoyable couple of hours reading through from start to finish.

It holds particular interest for me in that I spent many years living and working in Burma - and it is a delight to see the country again through someone else's eyes.
I moved there in early 1999, for what was supposed to be a 6 month job on some remote islands. I was still in the country 7 years later, and even after leaving still visit regularly, given the friendships forged and love for the country and people.

I have seen huge differences in the country from when I first arrived as a young chap in the late 90's....

Thanks Archipelago.You must have had some great experiences.I just loved the people and will return.Have to be soon before mass tourism once again destroys what they came to enjoy.
