Looking at another tr, it would seem that not a lot has changed in parts of India over the last 35 years.

The Taj and out the back.

Thanks for posting. Similarly I read RooFlyer's recent & great report & started looking at old photos. The morning we visited the Taj there was a partial eclipse but we were not aware of it. Our photos from March 07 seem to show the trees in front of the Taj trimmed a bit shorter. Not sure I knew how close the snake was in photo 11-Pictures Up To March 2008 1115.jpg

Well I had better get a move on, further down the west coast we stopped at Kovalum, couldn't get out fast enough, after miles of vancant beaches in Goa, this palce was teeming with tourists, touts and the like.
One interesting thing, walking down a alleyway we saw some guys refilling soft drink bottles with a home soda syphon arrangement. I had wondered why a bottle of soda water had i had with dinner tasted slightly of orange!
Before we got there we stopped at Mysore, the palace is definately worth the detour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mysore_Palace

A few from Cochin, I would like to go back there one day. Chinese fishing nets, assorted political advertising on various buildings.

Mattancherry Palace, looks like it's been fixed up a bit since I was there. Anyway it was closed and we couldn't go inside. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mattancherry_Palace
