Indirect Dom J routes jump in pricing

Can you purchase the SYD-OOL fare separately (?on arrival in SYD just buy the walk up J fare.....)

Find a reason to "stopover" in SYD (and thus need to separately ticket.....)???

Sadly OOL has stung me one last time on an international itinerary. Work had me on a promo F fare on QF2 this Friday to SYD as F was cheaper than J at late notice but adding OOL as the final point brings me back to J .

Perhaps. But when you’re charging $1,500+ for a one-way J ticket from ADL to OOL, you’re practically handing customers to VA.

Knowing Qantas, do we really think it was intentional?

I suspect it was intentional in that the change was supposed to fix an actual problem, but there were unintended consequences (such as doubling J fares on routes where no direct flights are available).
