Indonesia AirAsia in Northern summer 2025 season plans to expand service to Australia, as the airline filed schedules for Denpasar – Darwin route. Airbus A320 aircraft to serve this route from 22MAR25, 3 times weekly. It last served this route until January 2018.

Schedule below is effective 01APR25 – 25OCT25.

QZ540 DPS1145 – 1600DRW 320 246
QZ541 DRW1635 – 1755DPS 320 246

Much friendlier times than JQ on that route!
Indeed. However given the choice I would take my chances with JQ. QZ is on my DNF list.

35 min turnaround in DRW seems...ambitious.

no info on the schedule 22 - 31 March?

Is there any grounds for DNF for Air Asia Indonesia? I'm really struggling to find a "decent" op out of the 5 plying the route Perth to Bali. Not a great choice between them!!Batik, CitiLink, Lion Air, Jetstar, Air Asia Indonesia!! I was hovering over the Air Asia over the rest.....maybe!!

I have flown Citliink a few times internally in Indonesia and thought they were fine. They're Garuda's LCC.

I’d be another who would only fly QZ as an absolute last resort and only in a situation of need. You’ve likely already googled their name and ‘incidents’.
I’ve flown Citilink over 20 times and Batik a couple of times. How do Batik’s J fares compare? If you can get the ‘Green Seat’ and row 1 or exit row on QG, that would be my choice. Also depends on timing I guess. I’d not be keen to fly any of them in Y overnight…

Thanks for that. Yes want to avoid any Y class overnighter.

I am team “pick JQ over air Asia”. This may not be rational but I’m rolling with it
Well after listening to all you good people I have gone with JQ. This will be the first time with them but chosen max fare bundle was even cheaper than Air Asia ex Perth.when we wanted to go. Exit seats chosen, a few QF points will be gained and the food looks not that bad for a 3 hour twenty flight. How exciting...,🤭😄. The Batik business fares were shockingly expensive!!

TransNusa will be flying PER to DPS from 20 March 2025.

Indeed - citilink is completely different to the rest, approved to fly for foreign gov staff etc unlike the others

New route to KUL, A321N.

I think they should give CNS-KUL a crack also with the Neo.

The first flight is scheduled to take off on June 27 and will operate four weekly return services on AirAsia’s Airbus A321 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Don't think I would touch them either....

I may be a bit late to the convo, Batik Air Indonesia is the only carrier that was offering full-service (minus Lounge Access) Recliner J on the crowded PER-DPS route.

I think lounge access is actually included at least at PER. One choice of wine (so I have been told..red) and beer. Nah don't think Batik is the answer ..🤭😁..nor really their safety ...
