Insurance for flights commencing / ending outside Australia?

Travelling to Europe in 2023. Booked Business Class "sale" flights ex BKK. Non-refundable and non-changeable, payable now. I need insurance to cover this purchase, should I have to cancel. Flights and other arrangements for Australia - BKK can't be made yet.
Does anyone know of insurers who will cover these flights?
My complimentary credit card travel insurance won't cover the ex BKK purchase because it's not commencing/ending in Australia (criteria in underwriter's PDS).
I've looked at buying insurance. Some PDS include the same condition (with the exact same wording) as my cc insurance, others seemingly make no reference at all to commencing/ending locations.

I have a CBA Ultimate Awards Mastercard and the insurance provided with that card doesn't mention return trips etc.

This is important to me because although I live in Australia I spend so much time in Europe I purchase my return trips from EU to Aus and rtn rather than the other way around. (It's much cheaper.)

Travel insurance should cover your entire trip, from leaving Australia until arriving back in Australia. Its not individual or specific flights that are covered, but the trip. Just make sure the travel insurance purchased covers the full duration outside Australia and all the countries you will travel to/through.

The only time it becomes more complicated is if you are out of Australia for an extended time that exceeds the time covered by the policy. Note that even annual policies have a maximum time for each "trip", which is often in the order of 90 days. Check the policy details.

Do black CC generally cover reward flight with inusrance issues? ie. refund lost points?

Our Southern Cross Annual insurance policy covers 30,60 or 90 days. upped it to 90 days when I bought our new policy 3 days ago.
