Intercontinental hotels and las vegas

In the middle of planning a couple of days in Vegas again and are going to book 1 of the Intercontinental properties. There is "The Venetian" and "The Palazzo".
Does any AFF'er have any up to date info on these 2 properties as to which is the nicer and best. They are both almost next to each other so location isn't really a consideration I wouldn't think

I stayed at the Palazzo two years ago as Platinum Ambassador, was a good spot to stay with big rooms. Upgrade was a room looking over the strip.

Great bar area on the walk towards the Venetian, had live music every night including a very good rock band. Easy walk to Bellagio, Caesars Palace etc
