Now that international flights seem possible my friend in Sri Lanka would very much like me to visit.
KUL has been my main gateway in the past as it offers the best $/QFF SC ratio. However it seems that all MH economy tickets in all categories currently book into Q class (yes even the flex tickets). This class ONLY earns with MH loyalty program (not QF nor AA).

Yes, I was poking around just this week and saw that (I have a credit to spend).

At least business class isn't Q.

But Z class pricing is not the bargain it was in 2019.

To get to/from Australia/SriLanka I would have at least two side stop overs and between five and eight one way tickets. UL bid to upgrade was quite useful (KUL/BKK/CGK). MH was used to connect to a price point where Jetstar Max fares were convenient and the MH Z class fare was reasonably priced.
There was a lot of SC planning involved with wandering

Don’t quite understand. All economy tickets are in Q class? Fares from Sydney to CMB are showing in all classes… what am I missing??

The fares are filed. Go to the MH website and and see what is actually offered.

I only saw Q on ITA Matrix searching for cheapest available. I didn’t try and force it to look for higher fare classes but even if they appeared, it would still come back to actually being able to book that higher fare bucket…

Hi,

I encountered the same thing and posted the question on another forum. This was the answer shared,

Not quite - the RBD goes up according to availability - so they start at the lowest RBD - and sell all three levels at the lowest code, and then go up one, and again sell all three levels laterally at that code. Just for example - do have a quick look at 18/3 this friday KUL-SIN on MH603 - You can get a lite fare booked in Y - at a ridiculous 1200ish RM - and not have a bag included. It has been like this for a while. So to go back to answering your question - no, there is no way to upsell to a fare earning class online. You just need to wait until the lower RBD's run out, or you do it via a travel agent.

Can any one tell me what class fares om MAS that earns status credits/points for QFF?? Couldn't find it on QF site.

Many thanks!

Hi,

Hi All, just to share,

I recently Booked a V Class Fare via Travel Agent, as follows,

KUL BKK 5th APR V class
BKK KUL 9th APR V class
RM1385, Economy Basic

at the same time the same Economy Basic Fare (same dates) on MH's website is, RM 1,213, with N class outbound and S return

The solution works

I'm planning to book the same MH flight as my sister but on a fare class earning with QF - what travel agent would you recommend?

Any agent worldwide can do it.

I'd suggest @madrooster , whom I once described as a nerd in charge of a GDS.;)
Thanks, I see someone has also asked this:

sorry for the super slow reply.

I guess you would have gotten your tickets (or even flown) by now?

Anyway, I have found this Travel Agent Useful
