Interline SQ to QF Changi airport

We are arriving SIN on SQ from Vietnam then SIN to BNE with QF. Does anybody know if we will be required to exit, reclaim our baggage and book in again with Qantas or can we arrange something airside? I’ve also asked this question on the KrisFlyer Forum.

You should be able to get them to check through.

A bit over a year ago, I flew coughet (HKT) to SIN on SQ whY (think it was a VA award flight) and then onto QF J to SYD. Had a very long layover just in case but checkin staff at HKT were able to check luggage through AND issue QF BP. As it was, we “entered” Singapore via the smart gates and went to the Jewel for a little bit before heading to the QF J and then F lounges.

Worse case, it’s pretty painless to go landslide now. Should be no immigration lines, just go through smart gates, collect bag and checkin in (if arriving before checkin opens, head to the Jewel early checkin area to drop bags and print BP (then head back through immigration around the corner).

The glitch in that scenario is what’s involved schlepping your bags between terminals? Fortunately I didn’t need to do it!

BTW, if you do want to go to the Jewel anyway. Just head to the immigration area with the least people.

SQ has checked me through on separate tickets for SIN-CGK on SQ and CGK-SYD on QF

I actually think the worst case is if SQ won’t interline the bags (which others suggest it will) you just go to the Qantas transfer desk at SIN on arrival (I think transfer C) with your baggage receipts and boarding passes, then staff will collect your bags and send them on the next destination without you needing to clear immigration etc.
