International Economy Dinner Disasters

On two recent flights i was served inedible food in Y. They were so bad i had to share them with you all.

Flight 1 SYD-DFW
Beef casserole.

Maybe Neil Perry was trying to confit the meat? Given the price of oil at the moment i should feel lucky.



Flight 2 BNE-AKL
Thai style noodles with pork.

While only to Wellington I was served this. Got emailed a survey from Qantas in which I described the meal as "slop in a box"

The airline apologists would say "why are you blaming Qantas when this is a Swiss port or DNATA issue". . Never their fault.

I have had a number of "no meals" as I require a gluten free meal, the ones I do get are fine. Worse case scenario was when I got contaminated on the first leg of an EK flight earlier in the year.

Slop in a box has been around for years. Generally, they're not too bad...

Slop in a box is still a valid way to describe the aesthetic appeal.

That looks like the chilli con carne. It is absolutely disgusting and inedible. I was starving on a SYD-PER flight recently but couldn't stomach more than two mouthfuls. Upon landing in PER I made a beeline to the J lounge and grabbed some pizza.
