International to International transit at Sydney

We are flying BNE to SYD on QF8 connecting to QF 11 to LAX. Do we have to go thru immigration in Sydney or do we just transit. Does anyone know the process?

You should do all the formalities in BNE and just use the transit/ transfer security screening facility at SYD, very easy, just don't buy Duty Free in BNE.

If your QF8 departure is 0630 I would aim to checkin 90 minutes before at 0500 at the BNE International terminal. Note that in most cases when you go through security they will weigh your hand luggage to make sure no piece exceeds 7 kilos.

You will be processed out of the country by Customs in Brisbane so when you arrive at SYD Intl terminal you will have to remain airside but I guess you have good reason to.
