That just means that there is at least 9 seats per class available.

Careful and accurate choice of words here. Just because there are 9 B and 9 O and 9 X seats in Economy for example does not mean there are 27 economy seats. So the reservation system is not very good at telling about passenger capacity until a class is nearly full (less than 9 seats).

I have not figured how to use seat maps accurately across airlines. I have had tickets for a flight and the seat map shows the whole cabin empty - even though I am booked on it.

... I noticed on the website yesterday that the allocated seats are in J on both sectors. I almost hyper-ventilated. BTW - am platinum. Three weeks is a long time to hold your breath and keep the fingers crossed.
You are probably still travelling in PE, it's just that QF are using Skybeds for PE in some flights (and PE seating for some Y PAX).

You would get PE service with Skybeds.

Ah. Oh well, having the skybed at PE pricing is a big win anyway. The seats are 29F on QF107 and 24J on QF074.
