Intl F lounge guesting rules

I have, in the past, been allowed to take a guest who was flying on another OW airline in to the MEL FLounge. We were, in fact going on holidays together, but on different airlines!

I asked politely and was told, equally politely, that this was a one time concession!

Will try my luck again in a few weeks, three of us travelling, this time on the same flight. All they can do is say no.

Ask nicely and see what happens!

FWIW about a year ago I was flying on QF10 in F and a colleague was on QF2 in Y. I seem to remember the lounge rules were different to the current ones, because it was absolutely allowed to guest him into the F lounge. This was using the F pax status rather than any OWE status.
