DJ are operating the 330s between MEL-SYD on Saturday nights. Hapy hour fare of $65 for the 28th of May!

If I booked in PE I wonder what would happen.... I'm assuming I would end up in J.

Considering the new service has attracted a lot to it, I doubt there’d be space for upgrades. I’d be anticipating full premium classes, if not the whole plane.

Your suggesting a downgrade? There is no PE on A330 flights, yet according to their web site PE is available for sale on the SYD-MEL-SYD sectors.

worth a run up and down to see what its like - not having to go all way to perth :)

I'm thinkin gthat too. Maybe we should get a group together from AFF and do it, could be a good day. I'm sure Virgin Blue would arrange a suprise for our flight. ;)

Ohh, good point, I didn’t read between the lines.

In that case, who knows. Though considering how they treat people with PE tickets on rogue aircraft, I’d be thinking downgrade and fare difference.

Well I am up for it - I have to be in Sydney next day anyway - though I will be sitting in economy - for 1 hr 25 mins, I will enjoy the plane from somewhere in the middle methinks ;) $130 return woth one way on new aircraft - bargain!

Misha, im new here, couldnt reply to your PM. The flights that have a red aircraft next to the flight number on the booking page are the A330 flights.

Methinks it sounds like a good idea too. Anyone else keen?

I would want to check it really is the A330, because nothing has been announced, and according to the booking engine, there is another A330 flight at the same time. I didn't think the 2nd Aircraft would be there by then... Something might be wrong here.

 bum bow! ;)

I am so slow. After I sent it I looked at the flights and saw little red plane logo and that it was A330! hehehehe

Thanks for the heads up. I am booked on the flight ;)

Whats your return flight? I'm looking at them now, I'm thinking return on Sunday afternoon?

Will come back Monday morning at 7.15 - head straight to work. Might as well have all Sunday with the folks...

Is this going to be a mid-air AFF gathering? ;)

Oh, you can't. A moderator needs to do that...

But all future conversations about the flight can go in it's new forum.

I am not going to answer every one of your points as I don't feel the need. Suffice to say that I believe a lot of people have a different opinion than the one you have expressed.

Lots have also agreed with me in the office where I work as well  it's all about opinion and perspective!

Quite a few people have said "what is happening with Virgin Blue, we are sick of all these little announcements", not much seems to have changed.

As I said, happy to see the final product and I have many DJ flights coming up over the next 6 months as I prefer them over Qantas

About to book another swag of flights too!

I also need to add again (I posted about it somewhere else) that the customer service on the phone with DJ is outstanding. Yes the call centre is not Australia, but they are so much nicer to deal with than Qantas phone staff.

I had to call Qantas recently to book the 2 for 1 J sale to Europe as the website was down. The phone rep was just rude, refused to search for onward flights in Europe for me, told me the prices I had written down were wrong and was just arrogant and not happy to help.

Never had a bad phone rep with DJ

Back on topic - Bring on the FINAL product, fully announced :mrgreen:

This came via email today from Velocity:

"We are excited to announce Virgin Blue's new Airbus A330 Business Class Service, offering space, comfort and luxury from Sydney to Perth and back again.

With award-winning service, luxury leather seating, 62 inch Business Class seat pitch, multi-channel entertainment and our range of high quality meals designed by Luke Mangan, Virgin Blue's Airbus A330 service will redefine the Domestic Travel experience"

I'm curious to know how DJ Business Service can be award winning given that no one has yet experienced it?

I agree. Misleading a little, a # or * might have helped.

lovestotravel,
DJ might not have been able to "roll out their J product at once" because that might have led to taking a fair few planes of the circuit in one go to complete upgrades that they might not have been able to do in such a small space of time...Step by step seems to be their approach, "carrot & stick".....Still, they are getting there, while QF seems to be cutting back on a lot of things "enhancements"....
