I've been remiss in not getting my frequent flyer selection correct for the jounreys I've been doing on CX. As a default I've been getting them credited to QFF. About half the time Qantas advise it is an invalid booking lass and no points or SC accrue.

Is it possible to retrospectively go back and assign these to the Cathay program?

If the flight hasn't been credited to another problem then you can absolutely make a claim with another program, subject to that other program's retro rules.

Yes, you can.
If you provide the QF number but are not creditable class to QF such as Q,S class. (Lowest would be V eligible for QF credit)
You can retro claim the miles from Asiamiles.

That's interesting - and news to me.
Somewhat off topic but could I ask if anyone knows if there are similar provisions in Star Alliance?

I shouldn't see why not. The rules are about crediting to more than one program. If one program denies you credit, there's nothing stopping you from attempting to claim elsewhere.

When there was a bit of chaos as a result of the QR embargo in the Middle East, I ended up with some flights being credited to CX/Asia Miles that I needed credited to QFF (to make WP). The MPC desk at HKG were able to "un-credit". I'm not sure I would want to try that by email.

When the flight did credit to QFF, it took a note to the Facebook team to get it applied in the same manner as the online calculator predicted....

Happy wandering

Full marks for persistence! :)

Well I've done my claim on Asia Miles. Will update when I receive a notification.

The details are that I am claiming AsiaMiles for a CX ticket S Class originally travelled with a QFF number. QFF gave no points for the travel.

Well that turned out to be easier and quicker than I anticipated. Already credited.
