What seems even more bizarre to me is not even offering J* business or whatever its called between PER and SIN. I've flown J* once from PER to DPS. Never ever again.

Back in KTA...was an enjoyable night... pity about the name tags. What prize did you win swilk, so I can put a face to a name? Met the first winner of the door prize who had his FF number in the very early 100 bracket. I thought I was good with my 17 thousand number. He was younger than me too!! (ouch).

Anyway nothing of interest in Lesley's speech we don't talk about here, but I have to agree with their delusional attitude to Jetsar, they seem really amazed that we do not like flying that airline!

Had a good conversation with Justin about living in a FIFO town and the effect it had on fares, especially flexi fares, so we cannot take advantage of the new simpler fairer enhancements. (wow 3 banned words in a row!)

He is going to take the matter up with those mysterious people in yield management, as he could not explain why full Y fares were the same as the east coast but the flexis are more than double. I will post when I get a reply.

I totally agree Daver6. Also, bigger aircraft would be nice. Those A320's are okay for a short trip, but I'm not keen on doing the 5+ hours between SIN and PER.

I think my new single aisle limit is PER-DPS or 3.5 hours max. No more JQ to SIN, I can get SQ points instead maybe.

Having flown J* you would have to drug me and haul me kicking and screaming to get me on another one of their flights.

Perhaps QF management are delusional thinking that the JQ to SIN is the Australian operated version, not the 3K from Asia (is it any better? I can't remember what AU JQ is like). I've had that flight once where the chairs didn't recline, and by didn't recline I mean the button was not even there..the entire aircraft! All the way to SIN at their awesome midnight time-slot. I complained on twitter (ha!) and their response was "go get a massage at the airport, i hope you have good day!"

Like others I only take the JQ out of necessity, not by choice. Usually I have a last min trip and forgot to xfer points from Citi for SQ / their fares are bumped up / full flight / no luggage etc etc. I can't remember the last time I paid the extra $50 for the SC's with JQ, I've never booked the fare through QF but I can assume it is an extra $200 over the JQ booking which is about the price of a SQ flight anyway

Is the horse dead yet, or can we continue to belt it?

*edit*
In fact I am going to continue...
Go do a search on the QF website, say in 1-2 weeks from now for example

PER-SIN
PER-SGN
PER-HKG
PER-PVG

The first few matches are interesting. I won't go through all the results but there are several fares that are "interesting"
PER - MEL - HKG - PVG
Why would I not take CX from Perth for this, non-codeshare. Or the obvious SQ option of course.

Searching for a trip to HKG?
Why not choose...
PER-SYD-SIN-HKG with the final leg on JQ!
PER-SYD-SIN-HKG, final leg on CX!

PER-SYD/MEL-SIN, all of QF of course, but oh look here... PER-SIN on JQ listed right at the bottom of the search with "No Seats" for all fare-types. Return journey? yep the same all the QF flights have plenty available with JQ sold out.

My personal fav (personal to me) is PER-SGN
PER-MEL/SYD-SIN-SGN , with the final leg on JQ which is almost unavoidable. The same route is served by SQ in two legs, oh unless you want this one..

PER-SYD-BKK-SGN (flying QF codeshare on VN airlines).

Perhaps this is a bit fo a low-blow as it seems the QF booking site has preference to getting you on QF metal instead of the code-shares to CX/VN, of which only CX flies from PER.

I'm sure others can come out with some interesting routing and code share options from PER- S.E.Asia that I have missed.
