Mine looks similar, although if I hadn't have gone into a pitch black room and intentionally turned the iPad off and back on to get the black screen, I probably never would have known. Still unsure whether to return mine for a replacement or not, I only have bleed in to places, both on the short ends, so not going to cause a problem while watching movies.
Absolutely loving the new iPad though, far more responsive than the iPad 1. Zinio flips pages instantly now, I never thought the first gen iPad was "slow" until I used the iPad 2.
I noticed mine turning it on for the first time on my lounge. In the lack-of-light of a dark Aircraft Cabin, or in a hotel room watching tv or movies at night (as I tend to do when travelling), it'll be damn annoying (most my movies are 16:9 format so you have the top/bottom black bars, so bright light bleeding out is fscking annoying!).
Apple said they 'have no procedure for fixing the issue' yet. I was told to wait another few weeks before going back. Not good enough really for an almost $1k device. They're usually good with this thing, but the reports on the internet about this being a wide-spread problem, and the iPad 2 having been out a nearlly month now (in the USA), it's pretty poor.
