Can anyone recommend an iPhone app (or apps) similar to MyFlights that supports GDSes (I think I've got my terminology right?) other than Amadeus? Not 100% sure on what the other common ones are called - Sabre?, Galileo? - not an area I know much about.

Specifically, I'm looking to replicate MyFlight's ability to pro-actively monitor bookings and alert me if any changes are made to the booking, for bookings made with airlines which don't use Amadeus.

Thanks.

I think you have to send your electronic itineraries to worldmate. I wonder if I can handle using myflights and another app.

You email itineraries to worldmate similar to tripit.
Worldmate says it handles over 350 airlines.
You only get updates of changes within 48 hours of departure similar to tripit.
There is a pay for gold version like tripit pro.

Just fiddling this afternoon I prefer tripit.
Don't like the book hotels, cars etc options.
Tripit was able to put flights in sequentially to the USA when next flight leaves "before" AU departure time.
I use myflights as it pushes changes as they occur whereas tripit only does this in the 2-3 days before departure.
Tripit allows the electronic supplement to the paper booking references when things don't go as planned.

The update to MyFlights released overnight has added support for Sabre - yippee! Haven't tested it yet though.

Hmm, I only have one upcoming itinerary with an airline that uses Sabre to test against - a US Airways award booking - and it's saying it can't find it. Am I wrong in thinking that US Airways use Sabre? Or is it not working right? Anyone got a VA booking they can test?

I've got a few VA bookings to test but can't do it for 24 hours or so.

Edit: just updated and checked my next VA booking. No dice.

Hmm, bugger :-/ The release notes indicated a couple of US airlines' Sabre bookings couldn't be accessed unless booked through a TA - wonder if this practice is more widespread than the developer realised? Hopefully that's not it and it's just not working right at the moment though.

Thanks for checking.

US Airways use PARS/SHARES as their GDS, not Sabre - sorry!
You can see all the airlines that use each GDS by looking at Computer_reservations_system on wiki (I'd put the link but this forum won't let me post it!)

Thanks for clarifying - and for the link, interesting.

Just tried a couple my VA bookings. Still no luck.

:-( Wonder what's wrong.

If anyone has any example PNRs they'd like me to look into to see why they're not working, feel free to drop me an email at support @ myflightsapp.com
Thanks,
Chris
