Do you have perhaps an additional eSim installed? That was chewing through my battery
Yep, I’ve noticed that in the past but not so much on my current phone (iPhone 15). Although, when travelling I’ll usually turn off one or both when I know they’re not needed.
But this sounds like multiple issues.
I bought a new iPhone 16 7 weeks ago. First 4 weeks no problem. Then started having problems with chargers and the only one that worked well was Mrsdrron's for her Samsung Galaxy.
Are you using a cable to charge? Could be a dodgy cable? Or the power supply is on the way out?
I used to find furballs collecting in the older style lightening port that prevented a good connection for charging. Can’t say I’ve noticed that with USB-C ports.
The last 2 days though it chewed through the battery and it was dead this morning. Recharged OK. but has dropped from 89% charged to 50% charged and have hardly used it. In settings it says the activity on the last 2 days has been 4-5 times usual.
Somethings running in the background. As above, multiple SIMs can do it but also pesky apps running in the background or the screen not turning off.
As mentioned alert, check the Battery usage history to see what’s using up the battery.
Setting\Battery\”Last 10 days”
Try turning off Background app refresh for those apps if not required.
While you’re there, check “Battery Health” and the max capacity %. If it’s heading towards 90% or less then I’d be looking to get an exchange under warranty.
Suspect it has been infected.
How?
What should I do from here?
All else fails, take it to Apple as other have suggested.
