Weren't they designed to not be repaired?

Technically Apple tends to just replace the unit, but people think they can do better with actual repairs by a subsidiary, or they don't have an Apple store nearby.




According to the ATSB report, the screen had cracked on the phone and the phone had been repaired by an unauthorised repairer about six months before the incident. Some interesting images and discussion in the report.
