Is Air New Zealand taking the Dreamliner off the Perth-Auckland route again?

I have recently noticed that on Air NZ flights on the Auckland - Perth route between the 8th or 9th of February and the end of April next year that even though the aircraft listed is a 787, Premium Economy is shown as "Not available on this flight". This is exactly what happened last year prior to the announcement that the leased WAMOS A330 would be replacing the 787.

You are correct that they've removed premium economy for sale on the AKL-PER route over that period. The cabin still appears in the GDS, but with zero availability.

There hasn't been any announcement yet from Air New Zealand but that would look like a precursor to swapping the aircraft out.

It would be great if Qantas offered some competition on this route. Since my one and only trip on the Wamos plane early this year I have gone back to flying through Melbourne with Qantas. Better than Air NZ, and definitely better than Wamos.

What class of travel was that? My friends who did it in Y were happy enough, but they have also had so many flight issues with every carrier that just getting here with bags within the designated 24 hour period is a win, lately.

Economy. Nothing against the A330, it's my preferred aircraft when flying Qantas east - west. I just thought the onboard experience was not up to normal Air NZ standard. Inflight entertainment system in particular. Also had an issue prior to boarding in Auckland, bumped from my selected seats supposedly to accommodate a family group. Admittedly that was Air NZ, not Wamos, but being able to select seats (Gold at the time) then being bumped to accommodate a group who obviously were not prepared to select and maybe pay for the seats they wanted when booking the tickets was not something I was happy about. And we were in a pair of seats between the window and the aisle. Don't know how our two seats were required to seat a family group together. Maybe it was just some friends of the guy at the gate when we were boarding.

I’d just be happy if anyone had a J product from ADL to NZ in the future.
PITA heading to MEL or SYD but it still beats that all Y garbage that NZ gives us

Yep, Wamos now doing these flights….NOT happy Jan..just spoke to them. I needed to Re book flights with Covid credit in July, (had to use it) plus & plus additional $’s for same flights as in March 2020, cost additional $2k, in business class. Now this Aircraft change, plus the dumped us out of seats I selected in July, on another sector….and will now only refund the extra airfare that we had to pay for same flights….Will NOT refund whole airfare, as it was part Credit. total airfares worth $7932.00 for 2 pax.
(Qantas flight times much more suitable and cheaper for same flight itinerary, including domestic to get back to Perth)

Air NZ sucks…

I'm sure ANZ sucks just the same amount as any other airline. There's plenty of posts which indicate that when something is not right for the pax then the entire airline sucks

Air New Zealand’s COVID refund policy was particularly poor though, even compared to other airlines. Basically, it was a case of “no refunds but here’s a credit” for all flights, including those that Air NZ itself cancelled.

Unless your flight gets cancelled.
My NZ124 got canceled at 7am this morning, lucky got put onto NZ128 but lost my window seat!

Yep, they do suck.

Looks like they’re leasing more than as Denpasar and Perth are both daily at the same time.
I think it's a typo given the NZ website shows B777 operating DPS effective 15 July not June

NZ looking at increasing PER to double daily during peak periods next year.

I wonder if this means they'll reinstate the evening PER-AKL flight, with a daytime option for the return. (The old ~7am PER-AKL departure connected well with NZ's evening bank from AKL to North America.)

There has also been a suggestion that Qantas are looking at direct flights between Perth and Auckland starting sometime next year. Bring on the competition.

Qantas probably doesn't have enough aircraft to actually do this anyway, but if NZ adds a second daily flight I doubt QF would bother to be honest. (I suspect that might also be part of NZ's strategy, as they get decent yields on PER-AKL.)
