Is Elizabeth line a "tube" line?

They're now changing the London Overground to have individual names and colours. The new debate will be is the Elizabeth Line an Overground line with the similar naming convention and appearance on the map (it's not - EL is still a different mode, and the orange roundel will remain for Overground lines despite their different line colours whereas EL will have its own roundel. But perhaps that may change at some point in the future).

That somewhat demotes the late Queen - putting her on a par with the England women's football team, tradesmen and migrant workers.

I'm pretty sure the Mayor of London is a republican. While I am no opponent of diversity, I don't think politicising infrastructure names is a good idea

As I understand it, the 4th plinth at Trafalgar Square has long been reserved for a statue of QEII, but he is against it.

Definitely been some online reaction to the names.

Mostly to the Suffragette line as it's always been generally known as the Goblin line, and they've used Green.

And the Lioness line given unlike the others it's not historical, and they didn't even win the World Cup.

Mildmay Line also isn't the closest line to the hospital it's named after.

While I think some of the names are lightweight (Weaver and Mildmay), most are at least unlikely to diminish with the passage of time. Lioness, on the other hand, is commemorating a fleeting sporting moment and will age like turned milk.

Oh well at least the actual tube lines remain the names im used to. I always take Piccadilly line from LHR to London so no impact.

But now you also have the option of the Elizabeth Line line.
Well that option existed before this name change.

However, it is not convenient as the nearest stations to where I usually stay are all on the Piccadilly line and not the Elizabeth line. Why would I want to have to change lines and pay more? The time saving is neglible once you add the extra time to schlep your bags transferring lines.
