Is hotel housekeeping a lost art?

I'd go straight down to reception and complain if the sinks haven't been cleaned (yikes!). Not a single time (bar straight after Covid in the US, some properties there thought they could just get away with anything) have I not gotten a big apology and a housekeeper in my bathroom within 15 or so minutes to sort this out.

But then again, it has been many years that I've stayed at any IHG hotel and I had plenty of reasons for that before reading this article even
