Is International Virgin Reward availability now worse that QANTAS?

Both illuminating and incriminating at the same time. Thanks Sludge321, looks like you put some serious effort in there.

Sad to see this. It really takes the gloss off Virgin's allure. I don't suppose SYD-LAX would fare any better?

Wow this is truly horrifying but is it really that surprising - there is a long thread dedicated to lack of VA avails after all....

I guess the poor award availability in J(Z) is the result of the flooding of Velocity points from all the sign-up offers...

It's actually a really good indicator for FFers as to the worth of chasing VA points. There are positives with the VFF program, so it's not the end of the world, but it does go to show that there are some previously, reasonably well hidden but long suspected, negatives with the perceived worth of a VFF point that Sludge321 has now fairly graphically exposed and if Sludge321 does succeed in putting this on-line as an app, I can see it being of real value in picking the VFF sweet spots.

Non-AFFers however, may continue to be blissfully unaware, so impact to VFF is possibly minimal. Now, where is the ACCC phone number! ;)

Without a doubt, there are other entities who run their own similar automated search tools who snap Z seats up as soon as they appear for their clients on a commercial basis.

I have no doubt the commercial purchasers on a “bargain” site is where a lot of inventory go :(

Disappointing to see the lack of J awards confirmed...would love to fly the new seat to the US but I'd say getting two seats is pretty darn unlikely. Good thing there are other uses for VA points (eg SQ).

I would guess one reason J int awards have been very thin on the ground recently is to prepare for the 30% off all award seats promotion. No point giving away J seats which sell themselves....

It would be interesting to see, once the dust has settled in mid March, what turns up then...

I am a convert to SQ now.. I pretty much always find the dates I need...so credit card earn is direct to SQ and I cop the penalty for transferring VA to SQ if needed.

This availability thing is ordinary and forced a change in my thinking

I'm with CJ above. I think I'll be focussing on SQ from now on as I'm amassing so many velocity points but don't have a way to spend them because anything I want to use them on is unavailable. Happy to cop the conversion hit if it means I can use them to get overseas.

I found those reward fares this morning while wasting time waiting for the kids to get ready for school. Too much information, I'm sorry.

But, really - do you know what this means??? It may just mean I have 3/4 of 5/8 of 2/3 of a chance that some will pop up in October.

And if all else fails, I will don my old Business Class pyjamas, casually leave my Y seat in row 44 and stroll through the J cabin like Eminem and hi five all the passengers.
