Is it time that Qantas guaranteed a fixed number of Classic Rewards seats on EVERY flight?

HUGE: Virgin Atlantic introduces GUARANTEED reward seat availability in ALL classes — Head for Points

Virgin Atlantic are guaranteeing 12 award seats on every VS flight from today - 2 Business, 2 Premium Economy and 8 Economy. Apparently BA recently upgraded their guarantee to 14 award seats per flight - 4 Business, 2 Premium Economy and 8 Economy.

Qantas guarantee ZERO award seats per flight. I think it is about time that Qantas guaranteed a fixed number of Classic Rewards seats on EVERY flight!

That'll be good for Virgin Australia Velocity members that can already redeem flights on VS. Presumably more seats will be available.

BA have done this for years (except F)

On all our British Airways flights to and from London Heathrow and London Gatwick we guarantee a minimum number of reward seats. We offer at least 8 seats in economy (Euro Traveller and World Traveller), 2 seats in premium economy (World Traveller Plus) and 4 in business (Club Europe and Club World). On flights to and from London City we guarantee 4 reward seats in both business (Club Europe) and economy (Euro Traveller).

There’s unfortunately no real incentive or pressure on QF management for that to occur. I could be wrong, but reckon hell will freeze over before QF offer that on overseas flights; particularly in business class. They now have a significantly smaller fleet, smaller aircraft, booming demand & a staffing crisis.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
