Hi All,

I need some advice from the brains trust on this forum.

I, like many on here, have hundreds of thousands of points sitting with velocity. With the current COVID-19 situation and virgins financial position I’m concerned that if the airline was declare bankruptcy points may disappear..

What’s the likelihood of this happening and should I withdraw my points by purchasing gift cards to get some cash value at what I have..?

am I making a mountain out of a mole hill.. or is there a real threat to my velocity points been wiped out..?

Maybe unrelated but I noticed no Coles-earned SCs have yet hit my VFF account for March, whereas my Feb ones arrived on Mar 1. Not that it matters if Virgin folds, but combined with the stop on KF transfers and gift card redemptions, is this a bad sign?

The activity date is always the last of the month, but of the past three years visible in my account, the processed date has been between the 3rd and the 16th of the month (though that's an outlier - up until the 9th seems to be normal).

If the order status of Gift Card purchase is pending , does it mean they are reviewing the order or is it in queue for them to pick it up ?

Mine does show Complete now, but when I last checked it on Monday lunchtime it still said Pending. At that time the missed delivery card was probably sitting in my mailbox.

Still nothing from them on any purchases.... So annoying.

Was your email from Velocity or Collinson Group? (their outsourced supplier)

My e-mail was from Velocity Rewards Store

I'd be making a decision sooner rather than later. Could be all for nothing, but who knows.

no $250,
Nothing really I want/need so im going to convert to jbhifi gcs,

maybe its a system error but i managed to order 25 individually, but theyre all pending
some of the grange and other wines on Laithwaites works out to be better than jbhifi at 0.67c

Its a terrible feeling. Esp after years of jokes about using points to buy toasters! 🤦‍♂️

It reminds me of a former colleague who bought his wife a new washing machine ....... for her birthday! This was over 20 years ago - they are divorced now.
Your colleague had the right idea but may have executed the plan poorly. OT years back I gave MrsM a few power tools for her birthday, she did not know what to do with them and ended up giving them to me, go figure. ;)
