That is an interesting question. I am trying to find out what would happen to *Class pax if the service to SIN was cancelled on the day. Would they upgrade those clients to a J on a QF service, transfer them to a Y or Y+ seat on QF or would they just say, 'Thanks for coming but these things happen, so deal with it..'
Has anyone had any experience with being on a *class cancelled JQ flight ?
Cheers
Mox
As it happens, yes we have! We were booked to fly *Class MEL-SIN on JQ7 on Sunday 13th March. I received an SMS late Saturday evening to advise that our flight had been cancelled. When I eventually reached the call centre, we had two options: cancellation with refund, or rebooking on another flight. No offers of assistance with accommodation, no out-of-pocket expenses, zip, zero, zilch. We paid for another night at the Hilton Melbourne Airport, took another booking on the following day and remain grateful that we have travel insurance. Whether our insurance company makes a claim with Jetstar is, happily, a matter for them to worry about.
The flight, BTW, was much better than we anticipated. No, it ain't QF J Class on an A380, but the $ differ, rather. The (Singaporean, we think) crew were friendly and keen if not always polished and didn't stint on either F or B. Row 1 meant that we didn't have anyone in our face and were first off the aircraft. For a sale fare of ~$500 each, we thought it damn good value for 120 SCs!
