Is redeeming QFF on CX a total no go in your mind at the moment?

Have a CX Perth-Hong Kong-Seoul in June. Email 2 days ago that flight ex-Perth had changed from Sunday night to Saturday night, and layover in Hong Long down from 7 hours to 2 hours. All changed and confirmed, no dramas. Still need to have a negative PCR to get into South Korea from Hong Kong, although I believe that is being reviewed on the 10th March.

No requirement for a PCR test for entry into South Korea from Hong Kong as of 10th March. Hoping it stays that way until at least late June.

But I believe you still need to have a negative RAT 48 hours before departing Australia ?
We don't transit HK until September , hopefully nothing is required by then.
I'm interested to hear of recent HK transit experience. Thanks

HK has no requirements for transit passengers. An if you do plan to enter HK all you need is a photo of a negative RAT within 24 hours (though I hear it's not even enforced).
Thank you RealtimeY, good to know as we have 5 hours transit on our way to Europe and on the way home, 36 hours in HK before flying back in to MEL.

Just flew CX Sydney - Hong Kong - Paris with a 90minute stop over in HK. No C-19 issues, just concerns re monkeypox. CX service on both legs was woeful. Food was good. Pier first class not open yet but Pier business has a roped off area for Emeralds etc. both champagnes were good🥂😁

Thanks @drross, good to know 🍾🥂 good!
Smartraveller recently updated that no Covid testing in/out of HK required now, only temperature checks.
Was airport + lounges busy?

The quietest we’ve ever seen it!
We are flying though HKG on way to LHR at the end of May, with a couple days stopover, in on QF J and out on CX F, be interesting if it starts to wind up for summer

@drross what were the loads like on your flights?
all our flights were ‘full’ from what we could see

Hi there. Would you mind expanding on 'woeful'? I'm considering some CX flights so would appreciate a bit more info if you have a few moments. TIA

business class full both legs. Staff were all very young and we had to keep asking for water, alcohol, tea or coffee. On Hong Kong to CDG leg all they appeared to want was us all to go to sleep though no one offered to make up our beds. First world problems I know. Previously we had felt ‘fussed’ over by CX staff so this was an unpleasant surprise. We were told service was slow because of some demanding older travellers! Hard to believe when 4 staff are in the galley chatting amongst themselves and having cups of tea and the 2 elder patrons slept most of the way from Sydney.

Hmm, okay, thanks very much. Doesn't sound too good. I'm certainly in the use-the-call-button camp, particularly in J, but I just as certainly prefer not to need to.

Flying CX at the end of the week, I was delighted to see I could select extra legroom seats for free.

Hope all goes without a hitch

Update re above. CDG airport was better than expected despite the chaos of actually getting there - we hired a van and driver as we were going to T1 and our travelling companions were off to T2. Only lounge we could access was Extime - it’s airside. It was small but staff were friendly and helpful. CDG - HKG was a 777 and staff were better than our last experience though they turned off the cabin lights early in the flight. HKG - BNE A350 and gready service - lead by Wendy in the front cabin. The seats in the A350 were much more comfortable too. In total…only 1 out of 4 legs were as good as pre COVID travel
