Is there a 'guide for writing your first TR' thread?

I'm about to do my first and want to make it as good as possible. Especially want to know how to add multiple photos in amongst text.
I just write what I want. Sometimes I add lots of detail, sometimes just the basics.

Start typing and see what happens.

Thanks to this thread I finally got the photo attaching to work :D Just in time for the last few photos of my TR :(

Still haven't received any response from the PM I sent asking for assistance :( Lucky for me smit087 got this thread up and running!

As you're a new member with but 1 post, you may not be allowed to until you make a few more posts. But I wouldn't encourage spamming the forum to get there.

You may like to clarify this with admin or support.

Have worked out the basics and have been able to now upload pics thanks to this thread. However pics from my iphone shot in portrait get rotated 90 degrees clockwise when I use the uploader. Can't find a way to correct this. Tried rotating 90 degrees anti-clockwise prior to the upload but made no difference. Those shot in landscape format don't do this. Any suggestions? I've been uploading from my PC (WIN8). Is there a method to upload straight from the phone's camera roll?

I believe there was another poster who was battling this, not sure but I think it was black cat

Do your reports as you go if you can. That way you remember all the detail. I now use the phone to take photos then post them using the app.

I'm gold and cant post more than five photos.

Yes, blackcat20 is very good at posting sideways photos. ;)
Something about holding my phone then right/wrong way. Even held the right way I still have a good chance at a sideways photo. I seem to remember you had a few during our visit to cbr/hba last year :p

I have given up taking photos with the iPad and will stick to the iPhone for now.

I believe you can send a message to admin to have he limit increased to 10. This is noted unthread a little bit.

It can be an annoying hindrance, especially when emoticons count as images!

I'm gold and have requested admin to increase the limit. Answer = NO

If there is a phone app for direct photo upload into a report/thread reply can someone lead me to it please?

Im not sure its still available but I use it all the time. It was in the app store and looks like this:

And I'd really like to be able to post more than 5 pics too.

I have had problems too with sideways-posting portrait photos that were originally taken on my iPhone. Most of my trip reports in the past were written on my iPad, however the photos were taken on my iPhone and imported onto my iPad, then uploaded from there.

I have a full-proof solution for this: Edit the photo in some way on the device you are uploading from. I usually rotate it, then simply rotate it again so that the image is exactly how it was. The image then posts correctly. :)
