Is there any way I can take this item onboard flight?

I assume that the answer is no, but I'm flying MEL-CNS tomorrow (QF) and have been using this product to clean an area of skin on my leg where there was a recent infection.
I've been using it daily actually. Is there any way that I can take this product onboard , or no?

If yes - Do I pack in luggage or carry on?
Declare or don't declare?
Note flammable warning label.

A domestic flight? It should be no problem. For domestic flights leaving a domestic terminal, there are no limits on liquids and aerosols that are for personal consumption/use on the body. If it's an aerosol (like shave cream), it's the cap that will be important. That it secures the product in its container.

Notice the warning logo on the can. Contains butane and other stuff. Do I pack it in luggage or carry on?

If it were a straight butane cartridge, then no - not at all (it's one of the items you need to acknowledge when checking in.)

Based on your description, the item likely falls under Toiletries and medicinal items. Butane is a common ingredient in a lot of deodorants, shaving creams, etc...
These are best in carry-on, provided they meet the Requirements section below.

Just running out of room in carry on, and I have other liquids in there too.

Is there any benefit of placing it in carry on?

I'm curious to know how you came to this conclusion.

Do they check for it in your luggage?

Indeed, it could go either way - the main advantage of it being in carry-on is it is still with you if your bag is missing/delayed.
If it's in checked luggage, I tend to put each potentially leak in a zip lock bag.
Being a domestic flight, there shouldn't be a problem with multiple liquids, aerosols and such in your carry-on bag, although these tend to get heavy quite quickly!
