Is 50 minutes enough or is this travel agent pushing it a little?

Well...I would say that it's extremely tight....

When you arrive at Dallas at 21:05 (not sure whether it's at the gate or touch down on the runway), I guess you will be at the gate at 21:15.

You have got 15 mins left to go to another gate

21:55 from Dallas Forth Worth to Brisbane - It means that the plane has to be take off at 21:55. So it means that the gate opens at 20:30 and then closed gate or final call at either 21:30 or 21:45.

Where are you flying in from to DFW? If you were to miss the DFW/LAX flight, does the next one give you time to comfortably connect to QF12?

Thank you

IAD - DFW (15:40 - 18:05)

DFW - LAX (19:00 - 20:20)

QF12 departs 22:20

Actually, due to this thread, I am going to change my flights on Monday as my current bookings cut it a little too fine - not to mention that it leaves me with no time to sample the Flagship Lounge at T4 prior to QF12 boarding.

It may work as QF & AA both allow it but it is not worth the hassles IMHO.

My new choices would allow me to have a shower before leaving for home, 100% better.

DCA - DFW (12:50 - 15:10)

DFW - LAX (16:50 - 18:00)

To those who is wondering why I do not ask for a direct DCA/IAD - LAX flight, my answer is "SCs" :)

I blame it on QF for not giving me the DSC

Is this connection too tight?

Turkish from IST into SIN, arriving 4.25pm connecting on Qantas to Perth at 6.15pm, separate tickets.

Worryingly, the TK flight has a shocking 1.1 (out of 5) overall on-time performance rating according to FlightStats.

SIN is very efficient and if on time will be no problem (assuming you have BPs and can transit / through luggage).

Having said that, it leaves no margin for error re: on time performance, so personally i wouldnt risk it on non-connected tickets.

Annonyingly I've decided to overnight in Singapore as a precaution.

Sensible move, my personal belief is that if you have to ask the question is a connection too tight, the answer is always "yes".

I suppose what you could do is book the QF flight for the day after plus a hotel rate that had a provision for cancellation by 6.00pm on day of arrival.

That way if your TK flight is ontime into SIN you could see if it was possible to go on that evenings QF flight subject to fare rules etc.

I'm booked in O for oh dear. I think my chances of changing to a day ahead are about as likely as Jetstar's website surviving a half-decent sale.

My sister just booked SFO-LAX and then LAX-SYD with only a 45 minute connection. The Delta agent said that because the ticket was booked directly with Delta, that they would hold the plane as they are legally liable for the short connection time. We'll see...

Its unlikely the plane will be held (for her alone), however DL will ensure onward carriage (even if it means an overnight delay).

Book two airlines on separate tickets and the second one (if the ticket is restricted) has no obligations to you.
