No. This story is a mashup of issues identified over a century of aviation. All of these issues have been identified and corrected over the years. But the click-bait headline is a better 'story'.

The air in your office building or hotel is probably worse. In fact that 'new car smell' is more toxic than an operating passenger aircraft's cabin air.

I suspect 60 Minutes would turn the issue into a bit of a beat-up. However, it is a very real issue and I know this as a friend of mine suffers from it. He was a British Airways pilot for several decades flying 757s, 767s and the Concorde. He is now retired but has significant respiratory problems.

He said that you would really need to be doing a large amount of flying to be at any risk. So pilots/FAs and extremely frequent flyers might be at risk, but your average frequent flyer wouldn't be. He also mentioned that modern day jets use different systems that filter the air in a way that does not pose a health risk. The 787 is one such aircraft.
