I'm thinking it is...well we were certainly in the decent for MEL and a few turns later seemed to be heading back that way. Just glanced at it from.the aircraft window and the airport looks smaller than what it seems on the ground!

That is indeed MEL! The Qantas terminal (T1) is furthest away, then next to it is the International terminal (T2) with its hub design and the L-shaped extension, followed by the Virgin terminal (T3) which is attached to the new T4 which Jetstar and Rex use. Out the front is the long-term car park with the bridge road going over the top of it.

No not a trick question...I am but a wee Brit and not really captured MEL from the air despite quite a few visits. My first thoughts were.."it must be but it actually looks quite small".
