Is Westpac call centre in meltdown?

Tuesday I spend 50 minutes on hold waiting for the mortgage centre. I was only calling to let them know I am moving our loan business to Ubank. Ubank appears to offer a better interest rate than our supposed 'professionals package' and of course without the package fee. I gave up and just hung up.

Wednesday another 35 minutes to card centre and just never got through.

From these lengthy wait times over two days I assume the readers of this forum are not the only people moving banks.

Did you have hands free Alby? My last call like that was with our corporate watchdog ASIC and their answering performance is quite similar.
Don't you have a management contact at Westpac?
Members Equity and U Bank should be very competitive with their lending.

Yep, I use hands free which is why I lasted that long.

Today's effort was 35 minutes to Melbourne IT before being answered.

Maybe everyone is having an extended Easter break.

Westpac call centre can really waste a lot of minutes in your day so if you weren't planning to do anything for about an hour give them a call. Use hands free and stay within 20 metres of your phone just in case they muff the waiting time and put you higher up in the queue.
