Issue with QF on-line booking engine?

Whether you do it by price or schedule, you simply select price you do not get the option to select fare "category".

When your flights are selected, it shows the fare information page with the "Fare Conditions".

It can show as "Red e-deal", other times "Super Saver". I am not aware of the exact criteria.

I believe the OP had the "Super Saver" Fare Condition appear and (IMHO quite Rightly) assumed it applied to all flights.

Note: at no stage in this process can one from a specific fare category column!

Serfty, you are absolutely correct with your last two sentences, it only displayed Super Saver for the lot at the end and yes I assumed it meant all the flights. In all other occasions I have done this it has always allowed upgrades on the QF operated flights, always.

I agree Qantas should display the booking class but the current way of displaying it should be more than satisfactory unless crediting flights to the another FF program. ...
Not when looking for upgradable fares - look at this for an ex UK "Super Saver":

That's what I thought, but it [Super-Saver link] just says this:

Qantas Frequent Flyer
Flight Upgrade Awards are not eligible on all booking classes.
Flight Upgrade Awards are not permitted if this fare is a Qantas Any Seat Award.
Flight Upgrade Awards can only be redeemed on Qantas operated flights.
Points and Status Credits are not earned when travelling on Qantas Any Seat Awards. Classed as Discount Economy when Status Credits are earned on this fare.
That Sucks!

Bookings - Fare Types

It's about time Qantas got their act together and published the fare bucket code for each segment before allowing the booking to finalise.
So, "Super Saver" "Can Upgrade with points"

When you get to the price page it lists all the flights and next to each flight indicates Super-Saver / red-e-deal etc

Dave
Hi Dave, I will be happy to fax to anyone the hard copy examples I have here to prove that it does not show you the type of fare next to each flight, it only says economy , the whole type of flight on the left hand size of the booking shows Super Saver etc.

That is interesting. I have never seen that one before. Clearly Qantas has issues that need to be addressed ASAP and I agree with you that Qantas should be clearly displaying the booking class before the end of the booking.

Hi all,
Today I managed to get hold of a friend of mine who is a solicitor regarding this matter and they said that QF have not delivered on the conditions of sale and should fix it at no cost to me so i am going to take it up with QF firstly through their CS team. I will update you all on the outcome as soon as i hear back.
