Issues with TripIt

I haven't tried recently, but that's the entire value proposition of platforms like TripIt. If you can't add by email then what's the point!

Have you tried sending from a different email address?

I've found their support to be alright (when using the pro version at least).

I just did a test with VA eticket.

It worked fine - I have tripit set up for all itineries to be placed in "Unfiled Items" rather than have tripit decide.

@Flashback , what type of itineries are giving you grief?

I occasionally get one that doesn't load nicely but it's normally something a bit complex like a cruise. Hotels and flights are fine.

Are they going to your unfiled items?

TripIt replied via Twitter to me, it was an issue their side.

Hi Flashback, We had a temporary issue for some submissions earlier today. Please try re-submitting again now. If you still have any problem, please contact our Support team via our help page: sap.to/6013PTKQ7

Tripit has been very good over the past few years until my most recent trip, It decided to add in a flight with a 2024 date and it seemed almost impossible to amend it. I think part of the problem when you make a booking change it isn't smart enough to remove an old booking, you need to do that manually, but picking 2024 flight seemed to send it into a circle. Trip is over so i just deleted it.

As I have a lot of flights this year, I subscribed to TripIt Pro...has been a major disappointment! Flight schedule changes a few months prior are not picked up til a day or so prior to trip. I seem to get flight notification delays from the airline itself, Award Wallet etc before TripIt Pro...I won't be renewing next year....

Each to their own ( as they say 🙂) but I never look at TripIt far out from a trip. My use is much closer in. Looking for delays on or before the day, gate changes, connection updates on landing etc. Those time-sensitive notifications nearly always come before Airline notifications.

@Bundy Bear i had to do a similar edit not long ago and had trouble doing it - but then I found the way. Only problem now is I can't recall to tell you. 🙁

Just click edit against the flight plan and then edit again, let's you manually update the info rather than letting it auto pull based on flight number etc.

I like it.
I find the ability to download PDFs
particularly good especially with booking confirmations from smaller businesses that may not be otherwise
recognised. Instead of manually entering details I just scan to PDF
and enter as a simple event.
I often have PDFs of Passports, Covid
Certificates, tickets, airline itineraries,
Insurance details and so on recorded in each trip.

So I've just emailed multiple booking emails and why have I not done it this way before! Even the river cruise has grabbed so much more detail than I knew!

You can link it up with Openflights too, to build your flight history/map.
