Guess you have to get lucky with your travel dates.
I booked MEL-LHR direct on the A380 for $7005 earlier in the week.

During their last J sale (the companion sale) I got MEL-LHR for 6k, but that was codeshare with BA out of hong kong. But that actually works out ok, because the QF metal is a daytime flight to hong kong on Skybed I seats, and the BA metal with flat beds is a nighttime flight to LHR.

Stay awake on QF, sleep on BA. I wouldn't enjoy having to do the reverse though.

I managed to book J return to LAX ex. BNE on QF for $4862 through travel.com.au and that included taxes, their booking fee and paying by Amex. Bargain!

Mutter mutter ... checked J prices to LAX for my Oct trip. Now at what I looked at on Fri night for Y+, and Y+ much better priced now.

Mr Katie doesn't care and said I can't book J anyway
Really do need to try to get him to come on this trip with me, then he might let me book J. Esp if I lure him with a Flounge stop in SYD on the way ...

In a similar 'mixed marriage'... Believers and Non-Believers... Although Mrs Paddy is definitely coming around... J Intl and Flounge helps

Qantas have extended window for these cheap USA flts - Qantas Business Class Sale to Over 70 USA Cities Jul 12-Jun 13 - no doubt others will follow.

The entire retail space is getting more and more competitive as people are watching the pennies as we are seeing more and more specials on items that don't normally have specials on them.

The amount of advertising e mails I get is getting more and more everyday.

One company I buy from does a monthly newsletter with a special or 2 now they send around a specials sheet.

The monthly newsletter was a thinly valed specials sheet anyway but it use to have some minor information of new products to look out for in the next qtr.
